You can learn new techniques by discovering Revelations around town. To trigger a Revelation you need to resolve a problem that occurs in that locale. You can also unlock new techniques by using certain weapons enough times.

Kiryuu

Opened up in Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Sub-story Return of the Mack.

イベント天啓 Revelation event

When Kiryuu interacts with a man pulling at a woman on モダン通り - Modan Street, he realises that he is a pervert who is trying to get a woman to touch his junk. After struggling for a while she eventually manages to get away from his thrusting hips. She runs into the nearby taxi which is being driven by the Taxi Chauffeur. The pervert doesn't let this stop him and tries to get in the taxi. The chaueffeur pulls the following moves on the molesterer: QTE Wind down window; Wind up window; Shut door on his head.

Learn

Kiryuu learns {{ Essence of Door Slamming! 挟撃の極み Essence of the Pincer Attack }} where he slams the door on an enemies head and then kicks the door on to it.

Revelation weapon

Kiryuu will gain enhanced attacks if he completes enough of the following attacks:

• Enhanced Bucket Attack / Enhanced Bin Attack
• Enhanced Stove Attack
• Enhanced Pliers Attack

Enhanced Bucket Attack Get this ability by hitting enemies with the "Plastic Bucket" (the blue cylindrical one with the lid). None of the other bins / trash cans will effect this revelation, only the blue lidded ones. Use either the 口, △ (or L2-△ if in HEAT mode) attacks. You need to fight a lot of times to unlock this ability. I did at least 20 fights using bins without it unlocking it may be many many more. Locations of "Plastic Bucket"s are marked with a B on the map. This item can also be found in the Street Fight GP in the Colisuem Arena which opens up in Part 5 after Victory Road Tournament has been accessed. Learn Enhanced Bucket Attack / Enhanced Bin Attack Enhanced Stove Attack Get this ability by hitting enemies with the "Portable Gas Stove". Use either the 口, △ (or L2-△ if in HEAT mode) attacks. Doesn't take many fights to unlock this ability. I did it in probably 5 fights. Locations of "Portable Gas Stove"s are marked with a S on the map. This item can also be found in the Street Fight GP in the Colisuem Arena which opens up in Part 5 after Victory Road Tournament has been accessed. Learn Enhanced Stove Attack Enhanced Pliers Attack Get this ability by hitting enemies with the "Pliers". Can definitely be accessed using △ (or L2-△ if in HEAT mode). Given the other two of Kiryuu's enhanced weapon revelation attacks can be gained using 口, I guess this once should be too, but I can't confirm for definite. Doesn't take many fights to unlock this ability. I did it in probably 5 fights. Locations of "Pliers" are marked with a P on the map. Use

Once gained, each move can be accessd by holding the appropriate item ("Plastic Bucket", "Portable Gas Stove" or "Pliers") and pressing △ whilst not in HEAT mode. If the character is in HEAT mode, then use the HEAT mode ignore modifier ( L2 )-△.

Saejima

Opened up after completing Saejima's sub story Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Sub-story Snow Festival Street Performer.

Saejima needs to walk around the east side of the 大路公園 - Main Street Public Park. When he is in the right place the ◯ prompt will appear (If you are using western PS3 then X needs to be pressed)

Saejima sees イナリ Inari on top of a large ball of snow. He tries to unicycle it whilst juggling snowballs.

Saejima needs to hit the 3 QTE's at the right time.

Inari slips up on his giant snowball and goes flying through the air landing in the face of a nearby snowman.

If Saejima misses the QTE's he needs to walk away from the area and come back again to trigger it. (Going to the west end of the park and going back should trigger it)

The Revelation shows Saejima rolling up an enemy into a snowball and placing a ニンジン Carrot in their face.

Learn

Saejima learns Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Ability {{ 雪だるまの極み Essence of the Snowman }} .

Revelation weapon

• バケツ攻撃強化 Enhanced Bin Attack ( ゴミバケツを装備して△ Rubbish bin equipped △ )
• 鉢植え攻撃強化 Enhanced Potted Plant Attack ( 鉢植えを装備して△ Potted Plant equipped △ )
• タイヤ攻撃強化 Enhanced Tyre Attack ( タイヤを装備して△ Tyre equipped △ )

! Don't forget christmas trees are potted plants!

Haruka

Opens up after Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Sub-story Star Bound.

On Iwao Bridge. You can't miss her.

When Haruka interacts with Urara, she spots her doing some dance moves.

NB watch out as there are 3 QTE's in this sequence.

Urara tries to get the crowd of people around her involved and starts getting them to cheer, but she soon loses her energy, because fat. The crowd become bored and start to walk away. In desperation for attention, Urara decides to pull out a top drawer move. She looks to the skies and looks like she is about to do a back flip! Unfortunately due to her weight it turns out more like a backward swan dive. She falls onto her back and bounces of her ample body fat.

She bounces over the edge of the bridge, but hits the tarpaulin on a passing boat which acts as a trampoline which bounces her back up on to the edge of the wall where she gets her balance. She has an expression of disbelief in what she has just accomplished. The crowd cheer at what they have just seen and Urara gets all hyper and starts jumping up and down. On the wall! She loses her footing and falls again. The ship has passed! The crowd run to the wall of the bridge and look over to see her face down in the water!

Haruka dials it in and has her revelation of doing a back flip into a pose.

Learn

Haruka Learns Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Ability {{ 虹色プリズムスター Rainbow Prism Star }}

This can be used in Dance Battles.

Akiyama

Opens up after Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Sub-story Okonomi Performer.

When Akiyama goes to talk to the okonomi stall holder at the bottom of Bunzaemon Path then the Revelation begins.

Features the flamboyant yakuza and hoodlum from the substory.

Learn

Akiyama learns: Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Ability {{ ダブルジャグラー Double Juggler }} a move whereby he kicks one guy who is in the air into another guy.

Revelation weapon

• 自転車攻撃強化 - Enhanced Bicycle Attack △
• ビールケース攻撃強化 - Enhanced Beer Crate Attack △
• ボウリングの球攻撃強化 - Enhanced Bowling Bowl Attack △

Shinada

Opens up after Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Sub-story Caught By The Wick.

When Shinada visits the {{ バッティングセンター }} Batting Centre and looks at the cage around 5 and 6 (near the guy sat on the bench) he see's 黒人ペドロ (Foreigner Pedro) again. He has a samurai batting style.

Learn
