The Coliseum Arena ↓ and Victory Road ↓ Tournament are interwoven.


Victory Road

Victory Road is a tournament which his held at the Arena in Kamurochou. A lot of fighters want to compete. Some of them loiter the streets of all the major cities of Japan. If any of the playable characters comes across a fighter whose loading banner says ビクトリーロード "Victory Road" they will initially be qualifiers for qualifying for the tournament. Once the requisite number have been beaten by the playable male protagonists then a ! marker will appear on the map. Each playable character (other then Haruka) then has to meet the qualifying contenders and beat them to qualifiy for the tournament.



Kiryuu

The first Victory Road opponents appear in Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Part 1 Chapter 3 Battle Plans .


ビクトリーロード員の1 (Victory Road Round 1)

It seems Kiryuu may have to beat 1 or 2 Victory Road opponents. After one of them, Kiryuu is approached by the behatted 大会運営員 (Tournament Management Member).

After the conversation with the Tournament Manager, there is a ! marker on 逢瀬橋 - Ouse Bridge.


ビクトリーロード員の2 (Victory Road Round 2)

When Kiryuu goes to the bridge he meets 東野練 Higashino Ren.

ビクトリーロード員の3 (Victory Road Round 3)

When Kiryuu beats a couple of Victory Road ビクトリーロード opponents the ! marker will appear on the map half way down モダン通り - Modan Street.

When Kiryuu talks to Valery Garrett he finds it is spelt ヴァレリー・ギャレット

  • 俺には関係ないな - I want nothing to do with it
  • お前の本気を見せてやれ - You really are going to have to show me. (Choose)

Hints: If you don't know the Komaki Tiger Drop then for the super easy way to beat him is: L1△ to break his guard and then combo him

The men that wnated to figth Valery's have scarpered and then he walks off. Then 大会運営員Tournament Management Member walks up and tells Kiryuu he has qualified for the Tournament which will be held at the Underground Coliseum in Kamurochou.

This concludes Victory Road for Kiryuu for a while.

Saejima

ビクトリーロード員の1 (Victory Road Round 1)

Saejima can fight 2 Victory Road men to initialise the Victory Road.

After the second fight 大会運営員Tournament Management Member turns up and blathers on.

A ! marker now appears on the eastern side of 中月通 - Half Moon Avenue.

At the marker there is a guy sat on the floor. He is 白坂寛太 Kanta Shirasaka. He runs off when Saejima talks to him.

Saejima needs to go away from that area and wait for the marker to appear again.

When Saejima approaches the ! marker, Kanta runs up to him and engages him in conversation.

Saejima needs to find two random encounters around the streets that have the ビクトリーロード banner. When he has beaten two of them then the ! marker appears on ラベンダー通 - Lavender Avenue.

When Saejima goes round and sees the red markered man ??? Whose name turns out to be 音喜多 Otokita.

Akiyama

ビクトリーロード員の1 (Victory Road Round 1)

! This only opened up at the start of Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Part 3 Chapter 4 Beyond Your Wildest Dreams . Akiyama has to beat two men whose battle mode banner says "ビクトリーロード".

After the second Victory Road battle, the 大会運営員 "Tournament Management Member" appears behind Akiyama and slow hand claps him. He tells him about the Victory Road.


ビクトリーロード員の2 (Victory Road Round 2)

After the conversation a ! marker appears (It was at the junction of Soutenbori Avenue East).

When Akiyama talks to the 男 "Man" at the marker they discuss the Victory Road tournament. After a while the man turns his back on Akiyama then disappears.

Akiyama has to beat another Victory Road contenders before the man 番場 "Banba" will appear at the junction of Soutenbori Avenue East.

When Akiyama goes back there he is on his arse on the floor. He gets up and talks with Akiyama. Another man appears behind them. It's his father 親父 Oyaji / 番場の父 Banba no Chichi who gives his son a stern talking to.

After the battle Ryoichi runs off. His father stays and talks to Akiyama.

ビクトリーロード員の3 (Victory Road Round 3)

After beating one or two more Victory Road contenders in random battles then the ! marker appears at the west end of Shoufukuchou West.

At the marker is 男 a (Man) on the floor who is cowering in front of お面の男 a "Masked Man". The man is eventually let up and runs off. The masked man talks to Akiyama about Victory Road. The man is 黒川般若 Hannya Kurokawa. He walks off after Akiyama lights up.

Akiyama needs to find another Victory Road contender around Soutenbori and beat them. Once he has then the ! marker appears again at west end of Shoufukuchou West.

When Akiyama gets there he see's 般若 looking down and dejected.

ビクトリーロード員の4 (Victory Road Round 4)

After beating 予選参加者 a "Qualifying Participant" for Victory Road in a random battle he tells Akiyama about the toughest man in the city who is at 蒼天堀側道 Soutenbori Waterfront Path. The ! marker appears on the southside of the river.

When Akiyama meets the shaggy haired martial artist on Soutenbori Waterfront Path he talks very harshly and says his name is 金剛焔 (Kongou Homura "Indestructible Flames").

He asks Akiyama if he wants to:

  • 対戦する - Compete
  • 対戦しない - Don't Compete

Tips: Depending on what abilities Akiyama has then it is best to keep his distance and try and zoom in and △ kick then if it hits then follow up with □ and △ combos and retreat. If the initial kick does not hit then retreat and repeat.

After the battle the 大会運営員 "Tournament Management Member" appears and tells him he's qualified to the Victory Road Tournament ビクトリーロード トーナメント.

Shinada

ビクトリーロード員の1 (Victory Road Round 1)

After beating two Victory Road contenders in random battles then the losing 戦いを挑んできた男 (Battle Challenger) talks to Shinada. Suddenly the 大会運営員 "Tournament Management Member" appears behind Shinada and tells him about the Victory Road tournament.

A ! marker appears near the Save Point in Middo Square.


ビクトリーロード員の2 (Victory Road Round 2)

When Shinada reaches it he is stopped by 男 (A Man), who looks a bit drunk and keeps having jerky movements.

鷲野健一 (Washino Kenichi)

The name パーロー or パーロー keeps being mentioned. Washino runs off.

Shinada has to beat another random Victory Road contestant before the ! marker appears on the map again. It's in the same place in Middo Square.

When Shinada goes back and passes near Washino.

! He's a lot tougher this time and has a bigger health bar.

! Kicks from distance, grab and △ seemed to do the trick.

ビクトリーロード員の3 (Victory Road Round 3)

After beating another random Victory Road opponent the ! marker appears on the corner of 紬通北 - Tumugi Street North and 帯板通西 - Obiita Street West.

It's old RGG3 favourite Yonashiro Shouji.

After beating another random Victory Road opponent the ! marker appears on the corner of 紬通北 - Tumugi Street North and 帯板通西 - Obiita Street West again.

Yonashiro takes his hat off so he means business.

! He's going to use his nunchakus so you need to be leveled up a bit to beat him. There is a pole on the corner but it has no HEAT Action modifiers. The street posts and bins may be more effective.

ビクトリーロード員の4 (Victory Road Round 4)

After beating another random Victory Road opponent the ! marker appears at the bottom of Middo Park near the Lottery Stand.

It's Kenzan throwback 宝蔵院胤禅 (Houzouin Inzen). Looks like he's being a dick again. He's hovering over some poor schmuck with his spear.

The Arena

First opens up when Kiryuu goes to the Coliseum at the beginning of Ryuu Ga Gotoku 5 Part Final Chapter 1 Return Of The Legend .

! When Kiryuu is stood outside the Yoshida Batting Centre, a bald man with a tattooed face and arms 雷電 (Raiden) approaches him. They fight.

! After the fight Raiden was still stood outside the Batting Centre. When Kiryuu talked to him he gave a 金の皿 Gold Plate .

When Kiryuu enters the Colisuem and approaches the reception desk the tattooed man approaches him. This is 雷電 (Raiden). He tries to kick Kiryuu but he guards. Raiden soon walks off.

When Kiryuu gets back to street level there is a marker in the alleyway between Bantam and Pink Street North. When Kiryu gets near he is stopped by a 女 (Woman). She runs to the little carpark where a 倒れている男 (Man on the floor) is overlooked by 雷電 (Raiden). Kiryuu approaches Raiden and he mentions Victory Road. Raiden puts the poor whimpering man on the floor out of his misery with a ground vibrating blow. Kiryuu admonishes Raiden.

The 大会運営員 Tournament Management Member walks up to them talks to them both before Raiden walks off. The Tournament Management Member explains the Victory Road qualification to Kiryuu.

Victory Road Tournament

After (?beating a final Victory Road qualifier in the streets, in the final chapter?) the Tournament Management Member asks Kiryuu if he wants to take part in the Victory Road Tournament:
  • 始めてくれ - Let's do this.
  • いや、まだだ - No, no, I'm not ready let me do normal arena stuff.
Kiryuu is joined by Akiyama, Saejima and Shinada. Raiden walks into the Coliseum corridor. The following fights will take place:
  • Kiryuu vs Akiyama.
  • Kiryuu vs Saejima.
  • Kiryuu vs Shinada.
  • Kiryuu vs Raiden.

! Hint: Komaki Tiger Drops

After the tournament Raiden is defeated and angry! "Kiryuu...Kazumaaaaaaaaa!"

This will mark off Victory Road Round 04 in the completion list.
