Missions 1-3 are completed as part of the main story in Part 2 Chapter 3 Getting Closer.

メインミッション4：白い闇 Main Mission 4 Snowy Darkness

Fires automatically when Saejima walks past Sakurai talking to 集落の男 (Village Man).

• 話を聞く (Listen to Tale)
• 放っておく - Ignore

Saejima needs to talk to Nishina at the house.

Saejima needs to talk to Okudera who is sat by his cooking pot in the Matagi hut.

Talk to Okudera:

• 遭難したマタギを助ける - Do a mission
• 状況確認 - View Status Report Card
• なんでもない - Return (Quit)

After the load out Saejima will be transported to the bottom of Snowy Mountain.

Saejima needs to find 喜八 Kihachi. There are footprints at the top of the first hill. Follow them to find him.

Give him some food, anything will do.

Saejima passes out next to Kihachi.

Result Card

Saejima wakes up back at Okudera's Matagi hut.

Reward: 2000 XP

メインミッション5：第三の男 Main Mission 5 The Third Man

As soon as Saejima leaves the hut from the previous mission then Sakurai accosts him.

He points out よそ者の男 a stranger in the middle of the village in the red jacket and black cap.

When Saejima walks towards the village Kihachi accosts him and gives him a Torabasami trap.

When Saejima talks to the stranger he turns out to be called Narumi. Narumi talks to Saejima then walks off.

Saejima needs to talk to Okudera in the cabin to load out. Saejima gets given a 上下二連猟銃 Double Shot Double Barreled Shotgun by Okudera.

Saejima has to go throughout the Snowy Mountain and find Narumi.

Result Card

Back at the cabin Okudera debriefs.

Reward: 2000 XP

If Saejima goes to the Village Vendor then Mrs Nishina accosts him. She's not happy.

メインミッション6：殺るか殺られるか Main Mission 6 To Kill Or Not To Kill

To start the mission Saejima needs to go and see Sakurai who is tending to Okudera in the Matagi Hut.

Saejima need to talk to Sakurai again. He needs to kill a bear.

• 熊を狩りにいく - Go hunt a bear
• 状況確認 - View Status Report Card
• まだや - Not yet

After Saejima has selected his provisions Sakurai talks to him and gives him some クマのエサ Bear Bait .

Saejima is transported to the Snowy Mountain.

Saejima needs to find the bear. A headshot will kill it in one go.

When Saejima walks passed the bear's corpse the Result Card will be shown.

Saejima is back at the Matagi hut and talks to Sakurai.

Load out.

Saejima talks to Sakurai as they watch over a prone Okudera in the hut.

Reward: 2,000 XP

メインミッション7：暴走する欲望 Main Mission 7 Recklessness

When Saejima goes out of the hut the villagers are crowded around. Mr and Mrs Nishina are talking to Narumi, the stranger who got stuck on the mountain. It doesn't look friendly. Saejima approaches. Nishina points his finger at Narumi who laughs the incident off. Nishina grabs Narumi when Sakurai runs up to placate him. Mr Nishina says something to Mrs Nishina and she runs off. Narumi laughs again and walks off. Nishina is about to swear at Narumi, but Sakurai interjects. Saejima, Sakurai and Nishina have a powwow before they all disperse.

Saejima needs to go back to the Matagi hut and speak to Sakurai.

Saejima has to go round the Snowy Mountain and collects the 8 pieces of クマのエサ Bear Bait . When he has done this he needs to go and find Narumi.

When he finds Narumi he is trying to shoot a large black bear. Narumi pumps quite a few shotgun rounds into it, but it is not fazed. The bear grabs Narumi in it's mouth shakes him like a rag doll and tosses him away. Oh oh! This means Saejima needs to peg it. Saejima can't use his huts to replenish his health! He just needs to get back to his marker.

When he reaches the marker the Result card is shown.

Back at the Matagi hut Saejima tells Sakurai about Narumi.

Load out.

Reward: 2,000 XP + 気配抑制 Presence Control skill acquired

メインミッション8：欲望の報い Main Mission 8 Desire for Reward

When Saejima approaches Sakurai and Nishina at the sheltered bench in the village they begin to talk.

When Saejima enters the Matagi Hut and talks to Sakurai.

• 鳴海を捜しに行く - Go search for Narumi
• 状況確認 - View Status Report Card
• まだや - Not yet

Saejima has to find Narumi on Snowy Mountain. Luckily there is a marker to follow.

When Saejima finds Narumi, amazingly he is till alive but severely mauled.

Saejima has to escort Narumi down the hill but not too fast.

Part way down they stop and discuss the perils ahead. Ambushed by 3 bears. On easy modes they don't seem to go for Narumi.

When Saejima gets to the marker at the bottom of the hill he is transported back to the Matagi Hut where Nishina and Sakurai have made space for the injured Narumi.

Reward: 上下二連特殊銃 Double Barreled Shotgun + 2,000 XP

The load out question screen appears.

メインミッション9：ヤマオロシ再来 Main Mission 9 Defeat Yamaroshi

Saejima was dumped out of the Matagi Hut at the end of Mission 8. When he re-enters the hut, Okudera awakens.

Sakurai enters the hut talks to Saejima and Okudera for a bit then leaves. Saejima and Okudera continue to talk.

Saejima must talk to Okudera again to start the mission. In the meantime Saejima can go into the village and see if there are any contract missions or restock at the Village Vendor.

When Saejima talks to Okudera again he'll get the usual load out menus.

Saejima starts at the bottom of Snowy Mountain again and has to find Yamaroshi the giant bear. Follow the markers.

Not sure you can do much when you see him. I pumped 20 shotgun rounds into him without him batting an eyelid so made my way back down the hill to the marker!

Reward: 2,000 XP + 猟銃取扱スキル獲得 Rifle Handling Skill acquired

The end of the mission opens up the next mission.

メインミッション10：奥寺と共に Main Mission 10 With Okudera

When Saejima talks to Okudera in the Matagi Hut:

• ヤマオロシの住処を捜しに行く- Go search for Yamaroshi's habitat
• 状況確認 - View Status Report Card
• なんでもない - Nowt

Load Up Screen.

Saejima and Okudera start at the bottom of the mountain.

They need to go passed all the markers. This is a good opportunity for hunting as there are no mission obstacles until Saejima and Okudera get to the bridge.

They get to the bridge at the top of the hill which is broken. Okudera turns and walks back.

Result Card

Load Out.

Reward: 2,000 XP

メインミッション11：明かされる真実 Main Mission 11 The Truth Revealed

Saejima talks to Sakurai in the village. They go into the Matagi Hut. Looks like Okudera has scarpered. Nishina comes in and talks with them. They go out and inspect a snowmobile.

Saejima is plonked on a moving snowmobile.

Snowmobile instructions

• Left Stick - Move
• Left Stick + 口 - Tackle
• R2 - Accelerate
• L2 - Brake

There is no time limit or enemies to worry about so you can take your time with the snowmobile section.

Eventually Saejima finds Okudera up an a snowy ridge sat against a tree.

Back at the Matagi Hut. Okudera is unconscious again. Sakurai and Nishina discuss the situation.

Reward: 2,000 XP

メインミッション12：猟師の信念 Main Mission 12 The Hunter With Faith

Saejima needs to go to Nishina's house and talk to Mrs Nishina.

He then needs to speak with Mr Nishina. They go inside the barn and Nishina, Sakurai and Saejima look at a big bear. It's stuffed. They talk.

The villager all gather in the village and discuss the situation.

Saejima needs to go to the Matagi Hut and talk to a prone Okudera. Before he does though I would get some strong health reviving items.

Load Up Screen.

Saejima starts at the bridge at the top of the mountain.

Saejima can walk up to the clearing and then a cutscene appears where he waits for Yamaoroshi.

The bear is nuzzling in the ground.

Saejima can hit him a few times with the shotgun.

After a certain amount of shots (6 inaccurate ones) a cut scene plays out where Yamaoroshi swipes at Saejima sending him flying. He loses his gun. This means it's mano e mano or mano e artiglio. Saejima is in a closed arena with Yamaoroshi. He has 3 life bars.

Tactics: Run back and forth along a length of wall whilst he is on all fours, eventually he will charge Saejima. Saejima can X dodge and then turn round and unleash 口口口△ combos.

Eventually Yamaoroshi will rear up on his hind legs and roar at Saejima. Saejima needs to keep his distance but run towards Yamaoroshi and when he is in swiping distance do a X forward roll past him to his rear. Usually Yamaoroshi will crash down infront of him where he thought Saejima was. This is a chance for a combo behind and retreat.

ヤマオロシ撃破 Defeat Yamaoroshi

After Saejima defeats the bear, Nishina and Sakurai appear. Then a mystery man appears. It's Okudera. They all talk for a long time.

Back at the village, Saejima's and Okudera's voices talk over camera shots of the village, then the camera joins them inside the Matagi Hut.

Reward: 5,000 XP + 免許皆伝スキル獲得 Skill acquired Complete Mastery
